U.S. Congressional candidate Blake Masters (R-AZ-8) said President Joe Biden and his border policies have endangered American citizens after a report detailed how an Isis related human smuggling ring was able to enter the U.S.
“When President Trump was in charge, ISIS was completely destroyed and decimated," Masters said. "After a few years under Biden, ISIS is thriving, running smuggling operations at our own southern border. Biden is a failure and Democrat politics have put our national security at risk. We need Trump back in the White House, and to send me to Congress to have his back.”
The report claims over 400 illegal aliens were smuggled into the U.S. through a smuggling ring with ties to the Isis terrorist organization. The Daily Wire reported that roughly 150 of those illegal aliens have been arrested, while another 200 are known to law enforcement across several states, and 50 remain unknown.
The illegal aliens were questioned at the border but were released by law enforcement because there was not yet strong enough evidence to tie them to Isis. Eight suspected members of Isis were also able to make an illegal crossing at the southern border in early June before being arrested in multiple different cities.
Masters is one of six candidates currently running in the Republican primary to represent the 8th Congressional District. The district is currently represented by U.S. Rep. Debbie Lesko (R), who announced last year that she will be retiring at the end of the current term.
After growing up and attending high school in Tucson, Masters graduated from Stanford University and received his J.D. from Stanford Law School. He then co-founded legal research startup Judicata.
He is co-author of the bestselling business book, “Zero to One: Notes on a Startup” with Peter Thiel, and served as president of the Thiel Foundation. Masters married his wife, Catherine, in 2012 and they have four sons.
