Arizona State Representative Debbie Lesko stated that President Biden's executive orders from four years ago undermined former "President Trump's border policies," and now Biden is "blaming Republicans" for the resulting "border crisis." Lesko made this statement in a June 28 post on X.
"Nearly four years ago, President Biden signed many executive orders aimed at undermining President Trump's border policies," said Lesko. "Nearly four years later, Biden's blaming Republicans for a border crisis he himself caused."
In 2021, President Biden issued an executive order to shift immigration policy. This action included revoking Executive Order 13768, signaling a change from previous administration policies. Relevant agencies were tasked with reviewing and revising their actions to align with the new priorities outlined in the order. The executive order directed key officials to take appropriate action, such as issuing revised guidance, to ensure consistency with applicable laws, according to Whitehouse.gov.

"I’m moving past Republican obstruction and using the executive authorities available to me as president to do what I can on my own to address the border."
