The Glendale Police Department has been awarded a DUI Education and Enforcement grant through the DUI Abatement Council and the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. This initiative supports the department's efforts in traffic safety and reducing vehicular collisions.

The grant, totaling $36,000, will cover the period from October 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. It aims to enhance the skills and equipment available to officers for identifying, investigating, and processing DUI-related cases and collisions. The Glendale Police Department actively participates in DUI enforcement task forces year-round to educate the public and remove impaired drivers from roads.

Additionally, this funding will support increasing officer numbers and resources necessary for participation in these task forces throughout the year.
