City of Peoria issued the following announcement on April 9
Effective Thursday, April 9, the Peoria on the Go (POGO) circulator service has been suspended indefinitely in response to coronavirus (COVID-19).
This decision comes after several state executive orders to stay at home and a declaration of local emergency in Peoria in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. POGO has seen a significant drop in ridership during the month of March as well as many POGO destinations have been closed or access has been considerably restricted, such as the Sunrise Mountain Library and Peoria Sports Complex.
Also, effective Monday, April 13, bus service in Peoria on 67th and 83rd Avenues, Thunderbird Road, and Peoria Avenue will be temporarily limited to no more than 10 passengers at a time. Should vehicle capacity be reached, operators may not allow additional boardings until additional capacity becomes available. These changes to POGO and fixed route bus service are also in line with the social distancing guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
