With Gov. Doug Ducey's recently released Executive Order 2020-43, Pausing of Arizona's Reopening — Slowing the Spread of COVID-19, the City of Peoria has temporarily closed the Rio Vista Recreation and Peoria Community Centers to protect the community.
The centers will be closed until July 27 but existing Rio Vista membership terms will be extended accordingly, home-delivered meals and curbside meal pickups will continue at the Peoria Community Center, and services at the Community Assistance Resource Center can be accessed by appointment only.
City pools and libraries will operate in limited capacities, and preventive measures such as physical distancing, facial coverings and cleaning protocols will be implemented, including curbside delivery and book drops will be available during operating hours.
In a release from the City of Peoria, it stated that it will remain aligned with the state and federal directives to safeguard the community from the coronavirus. It also recommends the use of the hiking and biking trails for the residents to stay active.
