City of Glendale recently issued the following announcement.

Description
A series of events in which poets read or perform their work in front of a live audience… an audience in which five randomly selected people are given a scorecard and they rank the performances on a scale of 0.0 to 10. This form of “open mic” creates a unique dialogue platform between audience members and writers, giving new poets a platform to hone their craft and public speaking abilities, while at the same time elevating the community’s appreciation of poetry.
The Glendale Poetry Slam will be held outdoors at the Marty Robbins Plaza by Pizza Old Roma,
5740 West Glendale Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85301.
