City of Peoria issued the following announcement on Jan. 5.
In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, city offices, facilities, the Peoria Community Center and both public libraries will be closed on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022. Rio Vista Recreation Center will be open during regular hours from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. All city parks, including the new Paloma Community Park, will be open for the holiday. Also, trash pickup will change for the holiday. Monday, Jan. 17 pickup will move to Tuesday, Jan. 18. Tuesday, Jan. 18 pickup will move to Wednesday, Jan. 19. There will be no changes to the Thursday and Friday trash pickup. For the full 2022 trash schedule, visit www.peoriaaz.gov/holidaytrash.
