Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City is currently providing coffee and donuts at 9am on the second Tuesday of each month

Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City is currently providing coffee and donuts at 9am on the second Tuesday of each month to any Veteran who wishes to attend. Terri Flowers, Veteran Relations representative from Dignity Memorial Funeral Homes of Phoenix, provides this event to recognize, honor and thank Veterans for their service. On September 13, each Veteran attending was asked to introduce themselves, tell what branch or branches of military they served in and something about their service.

Sun City National Society Daughters of the America Revolution Members (Agua Fria Chapter) Honorary Chapter Regent, Shirley Staggs; Veteran Debbie Schneider; and Chapter Registrar, Leslie Eaton, were present to recognize and honor 5 Vietnam War Era Veterans with a 50th anniversary commemorative lapel pin, a button, a magnet, a brochure which explains the meaning of the symbols on the pin, and a “Thank You for Your Service” letter from the Chapter. Rick Kreiberg, Founder and Executive Director of Veterans Affinity and Retired Command Sergeant Major, US Army also presented each Veteran with the lapel pin. Rick and the Sun City NSDAR chapter have become a Commemorative Partner with the US Department of Defense. The DOD began a project named "50th Commemorative Vietnam Veteran Era" to thank all U.S. military veterans who served between November 1, 1955 - May 15, 1975, regardless of location of service. This free program also involves presenting special pin packets to surviving spouses of Veterans who have passed.
