Students at the Honors College's Breaking Barriers Leadership Conference were inspired by keynote speaker Latasha Causey, President of NASCAR's Phoenix Raceway, who shared her journey of breaking barriers in her career. Causey emphasized the importance of building a strong network and practicing integrity to achieve success.

The event, organized by GCU students from the Rise Fellowship, aimed to provide valuable information to students in a stress-free environment. The conference included breakout sessions on various life topics, such as cultural awareness, overcoming challenges, and navigating AI.

Another highlight of the conference was a breakout session on "Creativity and Innovation in the Workplace" by John Hamby, who shared his journey to success and highlighted the importance of being confident in oneself and taking the time to find the right career path.

In his closing keynote address, Gregg Ostro, President and CEO of GO Media Companies, reminded students of the power of creating their own brand and emphasized the importance of practicing integrity to break barriers in their lives.

Overall, students left the conference feeling inspired and motivated to overcome obstacles in their academic and career paths. As Honors College sophomore Emma Kreuzwiesner expressed, "Breaking barriers means being able to work on obstacles in all aspects of life and being able to be authentic to who you are."
