Peoria has a variety of events planned for residents to help celebrate Mother Earth. The city is gearing up for Earth Week with several activities lined up for the community. On April 17, there will be an Arbor Day Tree Planting Event for students at Sunnyslope Park, followed by an Earth Day Cleanup Event at New River Trail at Rio Vista Community Park on April 20.
One of the highlights of the week will be "The Best Desert Trees Workshop" on April 20 at the Rio Vista Community Center. A certified arborist will be present to provide valuable information about desert tree options that thrive in the local climate. Attendees of this workshop will also have the chance to win two free desert adapted trees through a raffle.
