Registration has officially opened for summer camps at Arizona Broadway Theatre and TheaterWorks, offering exciting opportunities for young performers to hone their skills in theatre arts.
At Arizona Broadway Theatre, located at 7701 W. Paradise Lane, campers can participate in the Academy for Young Performers. According to the theater's website, campers will have the chance to learn various aspects of theatre, including warmups, games, auditions for roles, staging, choreography, and music, all under the guidance of professional artists. The camp culminates in a production where each camper will have a role and perform on stage.
For those interested in TheaterWorks' summer sessions at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, located at 10580 N. 83rd Drive, there are several options available. Broadway Bound is a one-week program designed to enhance participants' acting and musical skills through singing, dancing, and acting. The Imagination Series, on the other hand, is tailored for the youngest performers, focusing on creativity, skill development, and confidence building. Additionally, Production camps span three weeks and lead up to a performance where all participants have a role.
To sign up for the camps or apply for scholarships, interested individuals can visit the Arizona Broadway Theatre website or contact Thomas Underdal, Education Director at TheaterWorks, for more information and scholarship opportunities.
Don't miss this chance to immerse yourself in the world of theatre and unleash your creativity this summer!
