City of Peoria is Hiring Lifeguards for Summer Swim Season

The City of Peoria is currently seeking individuals to join their team as lifeguards for the upcoming summer swim season. As part of the requirements, all applicants must possess specific certifications to be eligible for the position.

According to the City of Peoria, "All City of Peoria Lifeguards must be StarGuard certified once hired. Lifeguards with American Red Cross certifications must take a StarGuard rollover course." This certification is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals utilizing the city's swimming facilities.

In order to apply for the lifeguard position, interested individuals are required to follow a specific application process. This includes obtaining the necessary lifeguard certification by enrolling in a StarGuard Lifeguard class. Furthermore, all applicants must mark their calendars for the City of Peoria Water Test/Interview scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 27, at 1 pm at Sunrise Pool, located at 21321 N. 86th Drive. As emphasized by the city officials, attendance at this event is mandatory for all applicants.

Additionally, all applicants must come prepared for the Water Test/Interview by bringing along essential items. "All applicants must bring: Current Lifeguard certification, Government issued photo ID (high school IDs are ok), pocket mask, swimsuit and towel."
