Rep. Debbie Lesko announced that she advanced from the primary election for Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in District 4.
"We won the primary election for Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in District 4," Lesko said in a post on X.
According to a report by KJZZ, Lesko won the Maricopa County District 4 Republican Primary, defeating Robert Branch, a professor and parks commission member, by nearly 40,000 votes.
"Thank you to the West Valley voters for your support!" said Lesko. "I look forward to continuing to help the great people in the West Valley just like I've done in Congress and in the State Legislature if elected in November. My priorities include fighting crime and the effects of illegal immigration, election integrity, smart growth, and fiscal responsibility. Thank you again for your trust in me. I won't let you down."
Lesko, serving Arizona’s 8th Congressional District, was first elected to the U.S. House in May 2018 and has been reelected for a third term. She is a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, serving as vice chair of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations and on additional subcommittees related to energy, climate, and commerce. She is also on the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. According to House.gov, she founded the Protect Kids Caucus and co-chairs several other caucuses while having a background in the Arizona Legislature as a former Senate president pro tempore.
Maricopa County, with a population of approximately 4.5 million people, is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors that sets the agenda and approves the budget. The Board appoints a county manager to oversee more than 40 departments and implement their vision, while other elected officials manage their own operations and staff.
