Esteemed alumni honored by GCU Hall of Fame induction

GCU president Brian Mueller led the 2024 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony by reflecting on the university's growth and the role of God in its success. Mueller stated, “I never intended to be a college president... What is God doing here?” He emphasized the university's Christian foundation and the importance of honoring those who contributed to its development.

Among the honored alumni was Shawn Boskie, who expressed humility and gratitude, saying, “This is really humbling and a tremendous honor.” Wendy Greenland, another inductee, shared her pride in being selected and spoke fondly of her experience at GCU, stating, “It was a wonderful experience (being a student) and I would absolutely do it again.” Courtney Ophaug, CEO of Banner Estrella Medical Center, expressed her privilege and humility at being recognized for her professional journey.

Dr. Steven Valero, recognized for his achievements in psychology and leadership, expressed his gratitude by saying, “It’s an honor to be inducted. I don’t feel deserving but in the end I gotta give back to GCU.” The inductees proudly displayed their plaques, celebrating their accomplishments with family members.

Cherylann Galdi, Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations, commended the inductees, stating, “These are good humans... doing some amazing things to represent GCU.”

The event showcased the outstanding achievements of GCU alumni and their contributions to the university and beyond.
